Race Report for Round Seven - Sprint Race

Win for Webb in GTC, Chamberlain takes overall victory

That’s another trophy for Richard Chamberlain’s cabinet as he walked away with this afternoon’s sprint race victory. Remaining largely unchallenged, he ran a commanding race, finishing almost eight seconds clear of John Seale. The National Motorsport Academy Mosler was clearly suffering, but Kevin Riley carefully nurtured the car to the chequered flag to claim valuable points.

GTC proved to be an exciting battle between Bonamy Grimes, James Webb and GTO’s John Seale. Despite last minute issues with the #13 Lamborghini, Webb held on and took the win in GTC. Grimes continues his impressive run in the #22 Ferrari, finishing second for FF Corse, while John Dhillon in the #26 Spirit of Race Ferrari came third.

Grahame Tilley took another victory in GTA, finishing well clear of rivals Del Shelton and Callum Jenkins. Jenkins started strong, overtaking GTH winner Steve Ruston at one point, but a spin sent him tumbling down the order. Second in GTH was Josh Jackson - the young driver kept Ruston honest for most of the race. An improvement compared to this point yesterday for Chris Murphy, who took third in GTH. Meanwhile in GTB, David Frankland is doing wonders for his championship hopes, having claimed another win.
