Third Ferrari entry into GT Cup as de Meeus and Stanley race with FF Corse

After the return of 2014 Group GTC champion John Seale with FF Corse, a second entry for the team and a third Ferrari 488 Challenge will grace the GT Cup grid during 2018 as Laurent de Meeus makes a return to the Championship alongside another series regular in Jamie Stanley.

Belgian Meeus, who competed in GT Cup in the first half of 2017, narrowly missed a podium spot after taking three fourth-placed finishes and will no doubt be keen to take home some silverware this time out.

Stanley is a well-known face in the paddock, helping Seale to the GTC title in 2014 and scoring wins with both Seale and Ivor Dunbar a year later. He also worked with Fox Motorsport last season and took the 2010 British GT G4 title with Speedworks Motorsport’s Christian Dick.

Now in its second year, the Ferrari 488 Challenge is the first turbocharged racing car in the marque’s history, delivering 670 hp from its 3.8-litre V8 engine. The rear wing is styled on the successful FIA WEC-winning 488 GTE, while engine mapping is optimised for track action, helping the machine to accelerate from a standing start to max revs in fourth gear in just six seconds.

The GT Cup Championship begins at Donington Park on April 21/22 with 22 races over eight rounds across the UK with a marquee visit to Spa Francorchamps at the start of June.
