Brent Millage to make welcome GT Cup return

Former Team Championship winners Spy Motorsport are returning to the GT Cup paddock after a year’s absence with Brent Millage and his Ginetta G55. Millage finished runner-up in the 2017 GTA championship, claiming plenty of podiums, though upon his return he’ll be joining the GTH group, specifically for homologated GT4 cars.

Last year saw Brent take part in a few European Lamborghini Super Trofeo rounds while homologating his faithful Ginetta. Most recently, Brent took to the track in the 24 Hours of Dubai with Optimum Motorsport, also in a Ginetta G55, finishing 8th in class.

Oxfordshire-based Ginetta specialists, Spy Motorsport, emerged as Team Champions in 2017 running a pair of Ginettas in the hands of Millage and 2017 GTA Champion, Dominic Paul, improving on their 2016 3rd place GTA honours. This will be the team’s first venture into the GTH group.

Peter Young, team owner at Spy Motorsport said “We’re really looking forward to being back in GT Cup with Brent and his Ginetta. Having been involved for a number of years, it’s something we always enjoy as a team, the organisation and friendly paddock is hard to find in other championships and the class structure works well.

“The competition in GTH looks good this year, so we can’t wait to get started.”

“I am very pleased to announce my return to GT Cup after a year’s absence.” Says Millage. “2019 promises to be a great year with the new format. I am also looking forward to catching up with old friends and adversaries. GT Cup has always produced a competitive but friendly championship.”
