Multi Marque GT Sprint Racing at it's Best
Last season saw the GT Cup take a significant step as it entered its fourth annual running and second year as an official MSA permitted Championship. The organising team has taken the opportunity of pausing, listening to competitors and teams and introducing a number of refinements to take the GT Cup Championship forward into 2012 and beyond with renewed vigour. Our new Group grid structure, eligibility extended to include GT3 homologated cars for the first time and more racing track time represents the biggest shake up to the GT Cup since its launch in 2008.
We have sought to reduce cost to our competitors and deliver greater value for money whilst retaining the quality of our race weekends. Entry prices have been reviewed with outstanding early entry and full season deals on offer and other measures taken to help racing budgets including a loyalty bonus and free Pirelli tyres offer. With the full calendar trimmed to eight rounds and twenty three races and no expensive overseas event a season of GT Cup racing delivers great value. Be quick though as full season entry is limited to twenty six grid places. By committing before 1st February 2012 to all eight rounds you can save over £1,200. For anyone not able to commit to a full season, with sixteen out of twenty three races counting for the Championship, you can miss two rounds and remain in contention for the title.
In addition to the significant achievement of being 2012 Champions, the winner of each race Group will receive a VIP Paddock Club F1 pass to Qualifying day for the 2013 British GP as guests of Pirelli.
With Hannah continuing as Championship Coordinator and our new Competition Manager Philip Boland, we will continue to focus in the coming year on providing the highest quality National club racing to be found anywhere. In a nutshell the GT Cup Championship gives a unique opportunity for sportsmen and sportswomen racing drivers to enjoy their GT supercars in a friendly, professionally organised but competitive, multi marque, premium sprint race championship. Enjoy GT Cup!
Cars modified beyond standard may either be put into the next Group up or required to carry equalisation measures to remain in designated Group.
