Two Clean Sweeps & Close Racing At Snetterton For GT Cup
Wed 04 Jul 2012
Peter Smallwood took all three Group Two wins but didn't have an easy time getting there. Close battles pushed the contenders over the three 25 minute races over the weekend. A Jordan Witt Hat-Trick This Time
Fri 22 Jun 2012
Brands Hatch mercifully remained dry throughout the weekend, but did feature a very strong wind.
Martin Short, Nick and Harry Whale, Don Grice, Richard Chamberlain, Lee Mowle, Michael Sanders and Colin Broster were amongst those otherwise engaged this weekend, leaving a much-diminished grid from Silverstone but were joined by Dave Shelton's Mosler. Dan Stringfellow made a special effort to enter in a BMW - not his BMW, but a borrowed one, so determined was he to be out racing if he possibly could. This will be the low point for entry numbers in 2012, over 20 expected when the series gathers at Snetterton on June 30 & July 1. The clash with Le Mans didn't help.

Round Seven Spa Oct 2nd/3rd 2010
Mon 04 Oct 2010
The weather at Spa was, as usual, unpredictable as was the finishing positions of Race One on Saturday after an enthralling 40 minutes of high drama. The race was declared ‘wet' but there was a drying line, even so if you went ‘off line' it was very slippery. As the lights went green the action started when Alex Martin #87 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup and Gary Eastwood #18 Ferrari 430 GTC touched. This lost Martin his pole advantage and he slipped back down the field. This let Andy Ruhan through into the lead.
Round Six Brands Hatch Sept 19th Review
Thu 23 Sep 2010
In Group One Alex Martin #87 Porsche 997 GT3 had an exciting race long battle with Michael Saunders in his #99 TVR Cerbera. The two FF Corse Ferrari 430 GTCs of Gary Eastwood #18 and Leon Price #88 had their own battle coming home 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Preview - Round Six Brands Hatch GP Circuit
Tue 14 Sep 2010
This is the 6th Round of The GT Cup Championship and the second time it has visited the popular Grand Prix Circuit at Brands Hatch. This is ‘multi-marque' GT racing at its best with Porsche, Ferrari, Lotus, TVR, KTM, Ginetta and BMW all represented. The cars run in three Groups with the quicker cars in Group One and the ‘less quick' (there are no slow cars in GT Cup!) running in Group Three. The Groups are decided by a combination of a power to weight formula and the overall specifications of the cars. ‘Professional' drivers are not allowed into the Championship and all the cars run on Pirelli Tyres, Pirelli being the sole tyre supplier to the Championship.
Round Five Oulton Park September 11th - Preview.............
Mon 06 Sep 2010
With the summer break now over and four rounds and eight races to go the GT Cup Championship is looking highly competitive and very finely poised. The overall title is beginning to look like a fight between the Group 2 car of Keith Webster and his BMW M3 on 204 points and Group 1 car of Alex Martin and his Porsche 997 GT3 with 202 points. But Marco Pullen in his Group Two Ferrari 360 GTC is not far off with 175 points and a ‘charge' over the next few rounds will put him right in the frame to win the Championship. So there is everything to play for at Oulton Park and with three rounds to go after this round none of the front runners can afford to make even the smallest mistake and drop any vital points.
