JDR was established in 2002 by accomplished racing engineer John Danby and has quickly established itself as a leading race team and engineering organisation.

Double championship winners in 2009, JDR has a proven track record within the industry.

From its base in Colchester, Essex, JDR has successfully restored, prepared and run cars in a variety of championships including Britcar, Historic Group C, GTSCC, HSCC, Thoroughbred Grand Prix, Sports 2000, VdeV/Speed and British Formula Ford.

With a depth of engineering knowledge JDR also specialises in racecar component design, development and manufacture. Supporting this arm of the business JDR's Colchester facility is fully equipped with the latest CNC and fabrication machinery.

Team founder John Danby established the team after three years with Lotus Motorsport as Chief Engineer. During this time he was instrumental in the design, development and manufacture of the Lotus Exige race car as well as overseeing all engineering activities for the Autobytel Lotus Championship.

Recent projects include:

  • Fully stripped and rebuilt a Lotus Motorsport Elise for the Britcar Championship, developing it to become a race winning car and overall highest point's scorer in Britcar Production.
  • Pioneered the development of a Honda NSX from a road car to be the only racing NSX in the UK, which debuted at the Britcar ‘into the night' race with Vicki Butler-Henderson at the wheel.

JDR would like to offer our services to current or new GT Cup competitors for 2010.
