The GT Cup is set to make the pulse of many supercar fans race this year with a stunning line up of cars. Support for the GT Cup has gathered pace since its successful inaugural year in 2008 with 20 cars already entered and many still to come. Ferrari 430's will be well represented with three cars registered so far. Driven by GT Cup regulars Leon Price, Jeff Leadley and Ian Hartley the cars are bound to set a top pace in the hands of a new team, FF Corse created by former Ferrari UK race manager Anthony Cheshire. Switching from Ferrari Andy Ruhan will campaign a Porsche 997 GT3 supported by JMH Automotive. Andy missed the end of last years GT Cup season following a mechanical failure and massive accident from which he emerged unharmed but without a car. Andy chose to build up his experience with his new car in the latter part of 2008 to make sure he was on the pace this year. The launch of a new Group 1 for GT3 cars has proven a popular move with many big name teams entering in support of their clients. Team RPM are entering four cars during the season and may choose the GT Cup for the first outing in the UK of their new Ford GT40. Mike Gardiner has entered with his Dodge Viper which should prove brutally quick. Entries from owners of Lamborghini Gallardo and Aston Martin DBRS9 are also expected.
