This is what Bute Motorsport and the GT Cup Championship is all about....
Welcome to the GT Cup After two successful years as a Series attracting huge grids that were regularly in excess of more than thirty cars, the GT Cup returns in 2010 as an official MSA Championship.
Having established a fresh approach to GT Racing during its first two years the GT Cup Championship will retain all of the attributes which have helped to make it so popular, whilst also allowing registered competitors to score championship points throughout the year. Drivers or teams can now pursue the coveted position of:
‘GT Cup Champion‘
Established in November 2007, the concept was put together by Marc Haynes who, following his purchase of a Ferrari 360 GT in 2006 could not find a series which suited his requirements. Based on a unique formula the popularity of his concept was clear from the beginning. Organised in just eight weeks, an impressive inaugural grid of 25 cars turned up at Snetterton on a cold but sunny November's day. The GT Cup has grown quickly in popularity ever since.

Over the winter Marc and MSVR put together the first full season. MSVR were a crucial partner in helping to ensure the 2008 season was a great success with a quality grid and close racing all year.
The pace of development gathered further momentum with 2009 providing an even better calendar of UK circuits and larger grids. A new Group 1 was created for cars running at GT3 pace and careful controls on driver and car eligibility maintained to help ensure the racing remained true to its original concept.
Designed for drivers who are not paid to go motor racing and who mostly own or have hired their supercar the GT Cup delivers competitive racing for drivers who earn their living outside of the World of motorsport. Emphasis is also placed on looking after entrants and creating an enjoyable atmosphere where partners often enjoy themselves using the facilities in the Race Centre. Whether catching up with friends or relaxing on the sofa with the Sunday papers and a Coffee the Race Centre makes the perfect base to bring people together.
The GT Cup flourishes even in these financially challenging times because the concept maximises enjoyment of a weekend racing but helps keep costs down. |
