If you have never raced before but have always had a burning ambition to measure your self against other drivers. A desire to feel the thrill and adrenaline and be in the heart of the action then "seize the day".
Click this link to go to the 'Getting Started in Racing' section of the Motor Sports Association (MSA) website. The MSA are the governing body of motorsport in the UK and issue the race licence you will need to get started.
To race in the GT Cup you will have to have a 'Race National A' licence. After completing an ARDS assessment to gain your beginners 'Race National B' licence you will have to successfully complete six races and obtain six signatures from the Clerk of the Course at each of the race meetings you attend.
Race National B licence holders are eligible however for the GT Trophy but must be in a team sharing the driving with a very experienced driver approved by Bute Motorsport.
Have a look in the 'GT Market' section of this website to find cars for sale. An excellent way to start GT racing is to share a car by looking under the 'Seats Available' section or to hire a car from a race team. A list of race teams who are actively involved with the GT Cup and GT Trophy can be found here.
